About
From humble beginnings Seacourt is now an internationally renowned arts organisation. We are proud owners of a beautiful old Ulster Bank Building, a B1 listed building, in the heart of the city and we are playing our part in the regeneration and renewal of Bangor by the sea. As well as providing a workshop for printmakers Seacourt is home to ten artist studios, a main gallery space and a community room. Our printmaking family includes master printmakers, multidisciplinary artists, amateurs and those who print to improve their wellbeing. Our workshop offers printmakers a place where they can make and exhibit work, explore and share ideas, as well as earn an income through workshop facilitation. The old Ulster Bank was built in 1921 at the top of Main Street and is the most prominent in the town centre. It was set to be demolished in 1990, but there was a considerable public outcry and instead Ulster Bank decided to build an extension discreetly to the rear. 75 Main Street has seen many changes over the years, the bank was built in replacement of the Belfast Hotel, which had been on the site since 1860s, and had other purposes such as The Adelaide Tea Rooms and the original Carnegie library, locally known as the reading rooms. We'd love to invite you along to share in the magic of what we do at Seacourt- you can even print your own postcard using our vintage letterpress to take home! We'll have tours of our building and some of our studios will be open for you to visit- it really is a very special place.
Tours will take place at 12:30pm, 1:30pm, 2:30pm, 3:30pm
Tours available for groups of 6 at a time. Anyone else wanting to visit our building to see the exhibition and print their own letter press postcard can do so without the need to book.
