About

Join Cultural Arts & Heritage Curator Ciaran Elizabeth Doran to create a mixed media collage inspired by the legacy of The 1951 Festival of Britain and the role Northern Ireland played in the activities. Working with designs inspired by the iconic logo, typography styles of the era and images sourced from local archives participants create your own poster or postcard and contribute to a large scale mural to be deposited at PRONI . Participants will create work using photographs , collage material , rubber stamps , stencils , Lino print, gel plate print, coloured paper and textile remnants . Whilst working learn about the Festival and the legacy it created and the influences it has had on contemporary design from buildings, to furniture and typography.
