About
Mourne Chamber Music Festival is returning to Newcastle County Down from August 28th to 30th. The festival will welcome a group of young professional musicians from Northern Ireland and further afield to perform chamber music in the beautiful setting of Newcastle Community Cinema. This year’s programme includes a variety of chamber music for string ensembles, such as Annette Kruisbrink’s energetic duo for guitar and double bass and Schubert’s masterful String Quintet.
Chamber Music, a genre of classical music designed for small ensembles, typically consists of two to eight players, a size historically suited for palace chamber performances. The most popular form is the string quartet, featuring two violins, one viola, and one cello.
Whether you are a seasoned concert attendee or a newcomer to classical music, our diverse programme offers something for everyone. Embark on a memorable musical journey with us.
