In August 2026, Belfast will take centre stage as it proudly hosts Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann – the world’s biggest celebration of Irish music, dance, and culture. From Sunday 2 to Sunday 9 August, the city will be transformed into a festival of sound, colour, and energy, welcoming visitors from across the globe for an experience like no other.

The Fleadh is a spectacular showcase of Irish tradition. Alongside the prestigious all-Ireland competitions, where talented performers from every corner of the world compete, the city will pulse with:

  • Thrilling concerts by world-class musicians
  • Lively street sessions that spill into every corner of Belfast
  • Joyful céilí bands and traditional dance
  • Vibrant pageants and marching bands
  • Inspiring cultural activities, drama, and exhibitions

This is only the second time the Fleadh has been held in Northern Ireland – the last being the unforgettable 2013 festival in Derry~Londonderry. Belfast 2026 promises to be even bigger, offering 700,000 spectators and visitors from across the world the chance to immerse themselves in Ireland’s rich cultural heritage while enjoying all that the city has to offer.
