Armagh’s got it all going on. The question here is not ‘What’s on in Armagh?” It’s more a case of “What’s on next?” When it comes to things to do in Armagh, there are events to suit every taste and every pocket – from glammed-up Georgians to cider festivals and loads more things to do. Let's take a look at what's going on during the incoming months!
Discover space this summer at Armagh Observatory and Planetarium with an exciting line-up of dome shows. Running daily the programme offers something for all ages. Highlights include immersive trips to Mars, a look at our night sky, and limited-run features on cosmic events. It’s the perfect day out for the family, and you’ll leave seeing the night sky in a whole new way.
Join the McKeever family for a hands-on tour expereince. Walk through the trees to see the spring blossom or the autumn harvest before visiting the pressing room and cold storage to see how the fruit is processed. After learning how their cider and apple cider vinegar are made, you can relax in the Bramley Barn with a slice of apple tart and a hot drink. The visit finishes with a tasting of their award-winning juices and ciders, with a chance to browse local goods before you leave.
Step back into the 17th century at the annual Sham Fight pageant in Scarva. This traditional event brings history to life with actors in period costume re-enacting the famous 1690 Battle of the Boyne. Before the main mock battle, visitors can enjoy a grand parade featuring around 4,000 members of the Royal Black Institution accompanied by 76 marching pipe, accordion, flute, and silver bands. This year’s event also features a special appearance by the highly regarded mezzo-soprano Emma Brown, known for her performances at remembrance events across Europe.
The 7 Hills Blues Fest returns to Armagh City. As one of the main blues and roots music events in the UK and Ireland, the festival brings a lively atmosphere to the city streets over three days of live performances. It is a central part of the region's summer calendar, offering a great weekend of music for both local residents and visitors.
These are just some of many exciting things Armagh has lined up for you - you can be sure that whenever you choose to visit, you’re guaranteed an eventful trip.
