Crafting Creatures

Carnmore Road, Corranny, Roslea, County Fermanagh, BT92 7BS
Raku Workshop

About

Spend a full day immersed in the magic of Raku pottery as you bring a handcrafted sculpture, made by local artists, to life with your creative touch. Choose from techniques like Raku glazes, naked Raku, and Obvara to create one-of-a-kind designs.

Begin by decorating and glazing a pre-made sculpture, then experience the thrill of Raku firing. Watch as your piece is removed from the kiln at glowing red heat and placed into containers of combustible materials. Flames and smoke interact with the surface, producing dramatic, unpredictable effects.

This dynamic process blends artistry with the raw beauty of nature. Copper and cobalt oxides in the glaze react with clay, fire, air, and water to form intricate patterns and vibrant colors.

Additional piece available for a fee.

Join us on March 29 for this Raku session, complete with a sumptuous vegetarian lunch. Every piece you craft will be a masterpiece born from fire and nature.
