Tory Bush Cottages- No.5

About

Number 6 at Tory Bush is the upper loft apartment of a traditional Barn with an external stone staircase leading up to “Slievenaglogh”. Named after one of the more unassuming Mourne Peaks viewable from the balcony of the apartment and means Mountain of the Rocks, rather appropriate as it is on Slievenaglogh that some precious crystals such as ‘Beryl’ can still be found in the cavities in the Granite.
There is a large sitting room with an open fireplace to the left of which is the kitchen with all modern appliances.. Opening of the sitting room there is a large balcony with barbecue and patio furniture allowing Al Fresco dining in the warmth of the sun on late summer evenings.
Slievenaglogh has two large bedrooms, sleeping a maximum of 4 persons, with the flexibility to use the beds as twin singles or a double. One bedroom has an en-suite shower-room and the other has a was hand-basin. Of the corridor there is a bathroom with toilet and wash-hand-basin.
Being that little bit higher up, Slievenaglogh has excellent views of the mountains and is extremely private, it is favoured by couples and indeed is frequently booked most weekends of the year by many couples on a returning basis.
Like all the properties at Tory Bush, Slievenaglogh is fully WiFi enabled, has Freesat TV, there are bicycles for hire on site and storage and wash facilities for your own bike. Walkers can reach the mountains from the cottages using our own path and quiet country road or take advantage of the drop off local Shuttle bus service that operates in the Mourne area.
The Cottages are an ideal base for exploring Northern Ireland, - Belfast and the Titanic Centre is an hour away and the Giants Causeway two hours. There is lots to see and do in the local area from the new Castlewellan purpose built bike and walking trails, Murlough Beach and nature reserve, and the nearby seaside town of Newcastle with its award winning promenade, cafes, restaurants and welcoming gastro pubs.

In 2015 Tory Bush Cottages were awarded a Gold Award in the Green Tourism Business Scheme.
