About this space

Escape to the unspoilt beauty of the Mournes and enjoy breath-taking views of the surrounding panoramic countryside from your elevated position. Explore the nearby towns of Castlewellan and Newcastle and enjoy the setting sun from your private patio. Enjoy the luxury of our shouse (shed/house!) - a luxury transformation of our vernacular farm building which caters for your every need. This is a unique place to stay, a perfect base to explore Castlewellan Forest Park and other attractions.

The space

A beautiful kitchen with black granite worktops, the large twin door fridge has water and ice. There is a coffee pod machine and denby matching crockery. There is a large cooker stove to cater for every cook . Large luxury sitting room with beautiful rustic brick and a cosy wood burning stove. There is a large antique sofa and two single armchairs. Floor is covered in a deep gold wool carpet.Twin aspect windows look out onto the beautiful rolling hills. TV and reading material available.
There is a separate shower room downstairs with luxury towels. Upstairs you can relax in our antique roll-top bath before slipping in to the towelling robes provided. The beds have luxury mattresses and all our bedding is matching Egyptian linen which is protected by nomite covers for your stay. Bathrooms are sanitised prior to your arrival and we are very proud of our cleanliness ratings by guests.
We have stair gates and cots which are available on request.
Outside there is a private patio which is not overlooked. During summer months an Outback BBQ is provided and seating which is sheltered by a glass verandah.
A welcome pack is provided prior to your arrival, inside you will find a gift to take home from your stay.
If you meander down to the village enjoy the cosy atmosphere of the local bar which dates back to famine times. Castlewellan Forest Park is only 2 minutes by car. The town of Castlewellan is about 3 miles away and Newcastle is a ten minute drive. We are close to the Game of Thrones exhibition as well as the towns of Banbridge, Downppatrick and Ballynahinch.
