About

Anticipation is soaring as Royal Portrush prepares to host The Open again in July, and, as it returns to Northern Ireland, we want the world to see the giant welcome that awaits visitors.

Tourism Northern Ireland has the pleasure of inviting you to be part of The Epic Journey to The 153rd Open on the grounds of Belfast City Hall, at Ebrington Square in Derry~Londonderry and at Kerr Street Green in Portrush, as part of a four leg journey, as well as Tullamore in County Offaly, home of Shane Lowry, the 2019 Champion Golfer of the Year.

We are thrilled to have secured the world famous Claret Jug, the iconic trophy of The Open, to be on display, along with the giant #TheOpen letter installation, allowing for photo opportunities for invited guests and members of the public.

A Q Radio Roadshow will be on hand to create a feel good atmosphere on the day, and guests can take part in a pitch and putt game with the chance to win spot prizes. We will welcome a host of golf clubs, schools and the general public to celebrate our sporting legacy and how Northern Ireland is Made for Golf.

We hope you can be part of this exciting occasion.

N.B. There will be event photography and video footage captured throughout for social media and traditional media purposes.
