About

Taste Autumn is set to show case the very best of Ards and North Down’s food and drink through a packed programme of events and experience. Savour seasonal tide and turf produce and some of the borough's finest food and drink which offers something for all palates.

Enjoy this celebration of land and sea and savour the season with delicious local produce. Enjoy authentic food and drink experiences showcasing unique venues and our local food heroes.

Demo and Dine with Anna Haugh  5 Sept - Join celebrity chef Anna Haugh at Portavogie Harbour, for a unique dining experience. Anna will demo some of the dishes from the menu which will feature the finest local produce, curated by the team at the local South Eastern Regional College (SERC).

Stargazing at Burr Point 5th Sept  20:30- 22:30  Experience the incredible starry skies above Burr Point, the most easterly point on the island. Astronomers from the Northern Ireland Amateur Astronomy Society will be on hand with their telescopes ready to explore the planets and galaxies above. Hotties Chocolate and the Mallow Makers will provide a special warm treat of hot chocolate and toasted marshmallow topping to finish the evening. Oat milk and Vegan/Dairy free hot chocolate also available. Tickets - £7 per person A free bus will be provided to transport all ticketed participants from Millisle Beach to Burr Point:

Tide and Turf Portavogie  6 Sept 12:00 - 17:00.  Come and Enjoy Portavogie’s Delicious Tide and Turf Themed Seafood Festival. The beautiful harbour village of Portavogie will host a celebration of delicious local produce as well as the Borough's finest food and drink.

Chilli Festival Sat 13 & Sun 14 Sept 12:00 - 16:00. Things are hotting up in Bangor Castle Walled Garden. Showcasing many different varieties of chili plants from around the world, local food producers, live music, activities for all ages and lots of fun! The chili plants, all locally grown, and in all shapes and sizes, will be on display with a wonderful array of colour. See if you can find the hottest chili!

Taste AND at Bangor Castle Sat 27 &Sun 28 Sept 11:00 - 17:00. A specialty food and drink market. This two-day family-friendly market event will showcase the best artisan produce from Ards and North Down in the grounds of Bangor Castle, Castle Park in County Down. Indulge your tastebuds with something from the array of local makers and providers stalls on site, in the ambience of live music, and entertainment to amuse the little ones.
