Step into a Halloween evening full of autumn atmosphere, fun activities, and local delights at the Newry Halloween Twilight Market. Taking place on Friday 31 October 2025, from 5pm to 10pm, at Newry Variety Market, John Mitchel Place, Newry Variety Market will transform into a lively Halloween celebration suitable for all ages. With free entry, there’s something for everyone to enjoy!

Hosted by Newry, Mourne and Down District Council, families and friends can enjoy a wide range of Halloween-themed activities. Join the Spooktacular Children’s Disco with spot prizes sponsored by Newry BID, try spooky carnival games, get creative with crafts, and enjoy creepy face painting. The evening is designed for all ages, making it a perfect opportunity for a family-friendly night out in Newry City.

Throughout the evening, Newry Variety Market will come alive with music to get everyone in the Halloween spirit. Performances include the energetic and soulful The Unholy Gospel Band, a special spooky set from the Downshire Brass Band and a performance from fan favourites Those Guys. Walkabout characters and seasonal entertainment will add to the vibrant atmosphere, making it an unforgettable night.

Follow your senses around Newry Variety Market for a tempting array of hot food, sweet treats, and seasonal favourites. A licensed bar is also available for refreshments. Whether you’re hungry for a bite to eat, a tasty treat, or a Halloween snack, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.

Discover unique, handmade gifts and local produce at the Artisan Market. From crafts to local flavours, the stalls offer plenty of options for browsing while enjoying the festive Halloween atmosphere. An ideal way to experience the creativity of local artisan and explore unique local crafts.

Know Before You Go

- Anyone under the age of 16 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

- No alcohol will be permitted onto the event site.

- Assistance dogs are welcome.

- There will be no strobe lighting at the event.

- Sign Language and Audio Description are not currently offered for performances.

Road Directions

Drive into Newry City Centre and park in any of the Newry City car parks (Buttercrane Shopping Centre, Quays Shopping Centre and the Abbey Way car parks are the closest). The market is a short walk 6 - 8 minutes from any of these car parks.

Public Transport Directions

From Newry Rail Station there is a free shuttle bus bringing visitors into Newry Bus Centre. From here it is a 6 minute walk, head south along Newry Canal, then turn left onto Mill Street, after 70metres turn right into Mary Street follow this road for 120m, then turn left and your destination will be on your left. To get to Marcus Square, turn left outside the Newry Variety Market and walk 350m up Hill Street.
