About
The County Antrim Tennis Championships are back again, this year running from Saturday 6th to Saturday 13th July.
Held in the beautiful setting of the Ballycastle tennis courts, close to the beach, the tournament features events from age 8 to 80, with junior, senior and veteran events taking place in the same venue during the tournament week.
The last remaining grass court tennis tournament in Ulster, the Ballycastle tournament represents a unique opportunity for players to experience the delights of playing on the surface, along with enjoying a relaxing holiday tournament. The holiday environment is unlike any other tournament in Ulster.
It is a real family event, with events starting with Red and Orange ball (Under 8 and 9), and moving up to seniors and veteran events, all held within the same tournament.
Handicap events allow players of different standards to compete on the same level, a feature enjoyed by many of the competitors, and the only tournament in the Province which still provides these events.
New to Tennis? This year, you can enjoy an opportunity to try out the game, with help from experienced coaches. Perfect for anyone who needs some more experience before trying the tournament itself. Drop in to the courts between 1-3pm on Sunday 7th July and have a go!
There will also be a demonstration of Wheelchair tennis on Tuesday 9th July. This is a great chance to see top class players in this discipline, so be sure to drop by and see them in action!
Spectator admission is free, and there is ample opportunity to view matches in the spacious open-air setting. Play runs all day, starting at 9:00am, so there is plenty of tennis to watch at times convenient for everyone.
