About

The 12th City of Derry International Choir Festival returns this autumn from 23 - 27 October and this year will see the largest ever number of participating choirs taking over the city and its surrounding areas with a tidal wave of magical choral music!

Over 100 musical groups will be bringing the world-famous City of Song to life across the five-day annual festival, which will feature, as ever, a superb programme of guest artist concerts, competitions for school, national and international choirs, as well as the audience favourites of pop-up choral trail performances and community concerts in venues across the city and northwest region.

Wednesday 23 October
"A Child of Our Time" with Ulster Orchestra, Festival Chorus & Soloists
📍  Millennium Forum, 7:30PM - Tickets | Kicking off the 12th City of Derry International Choir Festival, a Festival Chorus made up of 100 singers from across the Northwest will perform Michael Tippett's majestic work alongside Guest Soloists and one of the island’s premier symphony orchestras, the Ulster Orchestra, all led by renowned Irish conductor, David Brophy.

Friday 25 October
SLIXS
📍  Millennium Forum, 7:30PM - Tickets | One of the best vocal bands in the world, SLIXS perform a powerful and daring mixture of Pop and Jazz, Classical and World Music, and this autumn, their six multi talented voices will rock the Millennium Forum for one unforgettable evening of entertainment.
 

Saturday 26 Oct
Oak Tree of Derry International Competition
📍  Guildhall, 7:30PM - Tickets | The prestigious Oak Tree of Derry International Competition sees choirs from around the world battle it out before a distinguished panel of expert judges, each one aiming to be crowned the Winning Choir of the 2024 Festival.

Closing Gala Concert And Awards
📍  Millennium Forum, 7:30PM - Tickets | The finale of the 12th City of Derry International Choir Festival is party time as our visiting international competitors let their hair down with fun-filled celebratory performances of music and songs from their native countries. The fantastic Festival draws to a close with the nail-biting announcement of the winning international choir and presentation of the spectacular Oak Tree of Derry Trophy all with the wonderful support of our friends at AllState NI.

Festival goers can also expect the usual feast of choral music with national and international choir performances, school choirs, pop-up Community concerts, workshops, plus so much more!
