About

The Thatch Inn, is a two storey, six bay 18th century inn with thatched roof nestled in the heart of the pretty and award winning village of Broughshane and has been at the very core of village life since 1773. Many a visitor has climbed Slemish, once home of St. Patrick, then headed to the Thatch Inn for a celebratory drink. On entering it feels like stepping back in time with the open fire and historic bits and pieces dotted about.

This is a family orientated venue that offers a tasty pub menu throughout the day then steps it up a notch at night and offers an A La Carte menu in their upstairs restaurant with great quality food. Don't expect to leave The Thatch Inn hungry!

The Royal Crest (Coat of Arms) above the outside door is reputed to have been bestowed after an English Royal Visitor stayed there overnight on his way to Londonderry, sheltering from a storm.

The Thatch Inn has hosted numerous famous faces including Barry McGuigan, Sir Patrick Mayhew, Graham Norton and most famously HRH Charles, Prince of Wales whom after visiting five years previous insisted on stopping off at the Thatch Inn during a trip to the province in 1999, declaring the venue to be his favourite hostelry in the British Isles!
