About

Formerly known as Lake & Oak Coppersmithing, we wanted a name that truly reflects the essence of our work and the unique materials we use. Enter “Redsmith's Forge”, which is a nod to the art of coppersmithing and its rich history. Inspired by the picturesque Ards Peninsula of Northern Ireland, we blend age-old techniques with contemporary design to craft striking copper pieces. We take pride in our hands-on approach, meticulously designing and handcrafting every item that leaves our workshop.

Workshops

Casual Coppersmithing - you will learn the basics of heating, chiselling, filing and texturing copper. Together, we will form a leaf pattern, adding texture and colour to it using a wide range of techniques. With hands on help and guidance from Matthew and Caron, every participant will come away with a leaf pendant necklace and one other item.

Creative Coppersmithing -  With a whole day to learn, you will have more time to make on your own. With full use of our range of tools, demonstrations at every stage and hands on help when you need it, you will be free to create a number of pieces of your choosing. Come away from this full day workshop with at least 3 items for you to add to your jewellery collection or give as gifts to friends and family.
We guide and help, but you do more yourself

Every experience results in at least two pieces of jewellery for you to take home and treasure. Workshops are suitable for beginners, creatives, corporate and events.
