About

Larne Golf Club is a distinctive 9-hole, 18-tee course that combines elements of parkland and links golf. Recently, a visiting journalist representing The Scottish Tourist Board described the course as “a gem and one of the best 9-hole courses I have played. The use of the 18 tees makes it a very competitive 18-hole experience. The course was in excellent condition and well presented. All the holes were challenging, especially given the windy conditions on the day we played. The final three holes, in particular, would be the envy of any club.”

Signature holes include ‘The Bell’ (7th/16th), a deceptive short par 3 played from an elevated tee over water to a green bordered by the sea on two sides. Another highlight is the 8th/17th, known as ‘Whins,’ a long par 4 flanked by gorse on the left and the ocean stretching down the right. Golf legend Fred Daly rated the 8th hole as one of the best in Ireland.

The clubhouse enjoys a prime location with stunning views of Islandmagee, the Larne coastlines, and extending further down the Causeway Coast. It features a fully stocked bar open daily from 4pm on weekdays and from noon on weekends. The Perfect View Bistro, operated by the club’s caterers, serves guests from Friday to Sunday and often on Bank Holidays, with opening hours subject to variation.

Larne Golf Club offers golfers a challenging round with breathtaking coastal scenery and abundant sea life, all within a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere. The club welcomes players of all levels and offers very competitive green fees. Those interested in membership can explore attractive offers available on the club’s website at https://www.larnegolfclub.co.uk/membership.
