About

Introducing Kinedale Donkeys: Activity Farm & Therapy Animals nestled on the charming grounds of a traditional family farm, offering picturesque views of Slieve Croob, just outside Ballynahinch.

With a heartfelt passion for donkeys, Robert has lovingly repurposed the farm once occupied by his parents' Jersey cows into a delightful haven for these gentle creatures. His journey into interactive experiences began over a decade ago when Denis' the donkey and he set out on their first adventure. Venturing into local nursing homes, Denis' friendly nature quickly earned him the title of a therapy companion. Growing up surrounded by the serene landscapes of Northern Ireland, he spent his teenage years training his donkeys to navigate a variety of locations, from bustling market towns to peaceful countryside paths.

Opening the doors to visitors, Robert saw an opportunity not only to showcase the beauty of Ulster's farming and agricultural traditions but also to provide a therapeutic and enriching experience with his donkeys. Amidst the challenges of 2020, the farm became a comforting refuge for others. Leading his therapy donkeys into Ballynahinch town to collect treats from local cafes not only brightened spirits but also deepened the connection between the farm and the vibrant local community.

Welcoming guests to the farm has evolved beyond a mere experience; it's a unique blend of activity and therapeutic engagement. What started with Cuddle Sessions and Donkey Treks has expanded to offer the Donkey Trail Through Time: A Farm Experience. Embark on a journey with his therapy donkeys to explore Ulster's countryside, gain insights into farming and agriculture, and appreciate the historical tapestry that defines the region.

As part of this immersive experience, the Donkey Trail Through Time allows visitors to harness donkeys to genuine old farm implements. Participants will have the opportunity to shear sheep, milk goats, and engage in various other authentic farm activities, providing a hands-on and educational experience.

Join Robert at Kinedale Donkeys as he invites you to experience the perfect blend of farm activities and therapeutic interactions on his lovingly repurposed traditional family farm with views of Slieve Croob. Whether you're looking to explore the beauty of Northern Ireland's countryside, appreciate agricultural traditions, or simply enjoy the companionship of his therapy animals, Kinedale Donkeys await to create memorable moments for you and your guests.
