NI Silver is in the business of 'creating memories' for people; memories of their time on this island, memories on this earth and memories of special time spent with loved ones. We believe our time spent with others critically important to us mentally, especially now that we've come through a global pandemic. So come and spend time with your loved ones, putting your creative skills to good use and make a handmade and handcrafted ‘Wearable Memory’.
Our 3-4 hour jewellery making workshops for small private parties of up to 3 people are great 'craic' and very relaxing. No previous jewellery making experience is necessary as Ruth (our goldsmith) guides you through the traditional techniques of piercing, filing, soldering, hammering, cleaning and polishing your special creation. So come and relax in our contemporary studio. Our ‘experience days’ are tailored to meet your needs and allow you to take home a piece of handmade jewellery after the workshop, one that you have hand-created in Northern Ireland.
Based in beautiful Holywood Hills, we are 10 minutes from Belfast's City Airport, a 10-minute drive/train journey from Belfast City Centre, and/or a 7-minute walk from Marino train station. We are also 2 minutes away from the Culloden Hotel & Spa on the A2 Bangor Road. Our ‘make, take and wear’ jewellery workshops are very popular and offer a totally unique experience and are suitable for anyone 12 or over. With views across Belfast Lough to the hills of Antrim beyond, you can relax and enjoy a well-earned refreshment as your jewellery creation is polishing.
We have a beautiful cabinet of pre-made jewellery in our studio cabinet, so even if you don't want to make your own masterpiece, you may find something in there that you like. Our designs are based around Northern Ireland's iconic images (bridges, architecture, statues), so mini silver and gold Cranes, Titanics, Scrabo Towers, Bangor Bells, Dark Hedges, Silver Thrones (Game of Thrones inspired of course) to name but a few. There is a 3d piece for every county in Northern Ireland, soon we'll have one for every county in Ireland, we hope. Something for everyone!
We also offer a bespoke comission jewellery design service where you are involved in the design and creation of your special unique piece of jewellery. Ruth will then make the piece of platinum, gold or silver work for you. You can sketch, discuss in advance what you are considering ahead of a personal consultation, or you can provide details via WhatsApp or Email if this is more comfortable. Either way, Ruth will keep you informed on progress and you can make decisions on minor amendments as the design is created. Many people have a basic idea about what they always imagined, so let us bring it to life for you. Commissions can be undertaken locally, nationally or internationally, whatever suits you best.
