About

Belfast Golf Course, formerly known as Mallusk Golf Club, was opened in 1985 by Former Open Champion winner Fred Daly. The club was officially accepted into the Golfing Union of Ireland (GUI) IN 1993.

In 2005 the membership of Mallusk Golf Club changed the name of the club to the City of Belfast Golf Club and took control of the course and clubhouse at Mallusk under a facilities management agreement with Belfast City Council. In 2007 a new Par 4 signature 3rd Hole was introduced. This new 3rd hole is not only testing, but grants additional yardage to the course.

It was always going to be difficult to squeeze in a decent Par 5 with land availability, but in October 2009 this was achieved. By extending the 8th hole by 120 yards and creating a new tee box a new 484yd Par 5 is available for members increasing the competition course Par to 67.

October 2014 saw the completion, after much hard work, of a new built for purpose clubhouse pavilion was officially opened. The clubhouse itself was a culmination of countless hours of effort for many of the golf club council and has been a roaring success since its introduction. It is the perfect place to relax and unwind off the course after an excellent round of parkland golf.
