Make this autumn your next giant adventure. Combine experiences that go beyond the ordinary, with time to explore natural landscapes at your own pace, and opportunities to meet with locals and uncover hidden gems. Maybe you're picturing a tranquil retreat in the rolling hills of lush green countryside or a vibrant city escape. Well, you've come to the right place.
For starters, while in Belfast, take yourselves off to Titanic Belfast or the Ulster Museum for the day, and immerse yourself in ancient artefacts, local history and culturally significant stories. Or if you're more into the outdoors, head to the heart of County Down for a refreshing spring walk around the stunning grounds of Montalto Estate, Hillsborough Castle & Gardens or one of the many National Trust properties.
Head West to rediscover the history behind The Walled City by stopping into the Tower Museum (with its panoramic views from the rooftop), the Peacemakers Museum and the Siege Museum. Then try a tour with a difference at the Walled City Brewery, before stopping for refreshments in the majestic surroundings of the Ebrington Hotel.
If it’s spectacular views you're after, you won't want to miss the water county of Fermanagh, where you'll find Enniskillen Castle, and the fully electric Erne Water Taxi which offers return trips to nearby Devenish Island. Truly spectacular any day of the week.
Whether it’s your first time out exploring, or you’re returning to your favourite spots, experiences like these are timeless classics for a reason.
