About

Located on the outskirts of Kilkeel, the rural, tranquil setting will appeal to a wide range of guests.  Ample parking is available for guests with an enclosed garden offering families peace of mind. The garden area to the side of the property is a lovely place to sit and relax, listen to the river and enjoy the peace. The guest lounge, kitchen and dining area share an open plan space.

Wee Home is a modern spacious 3-bedroom house which can sleep 6 people with its own private wood fired hot tub and outdoor shower both can be added to your booking.  A cover out door area houses the hot tub, shower, pizza oven BBQ area and outdoor kitchen. It is the perfect place to enjoy sunsets over to the west.  Children also have access to the swings and slide in the communal garden. There is 8 acres of ancient woodland and private meadow which guests have access to during their stay. The Kilkeel River is the a perfect habitat for many native birds and plants, Wee Home provides the perfect setting to relax and enjoy nature.

So, with a lovely place to stay you can either put your feet up and relax or get out and about in this spectacular part of the world! Hill walkers can enjoy the spectular Mountains of Mourne, forest parks, mountain biking, championship golf courses, Game of Thrones® filming locations, great restaurants and coffee shops are all nearby.

We are within a 10 minute drive to the Carlingford Ferry guests have the opportunity to explore and visit the Cooley Pennisula and Ireland Ancient's East. A car is advisable. Translink do provide a regular service - Kilkeel to and from Belfast, Newcastle and Newry.

  • Sauna - THE WOODLAND SPA (this is separate from hot tub at Wee Home) Morning: 10 am – 12pm Afternoon: 2pm – 4 pm Evening: 7 -9pm (*These times are a guide so let us know what suits you). The cost starts at £100 - £130, depending on which house you are staying in, this can be added to your booking or paid during the stay. The Woodland Spa uses both hot and cold water to maximise the feeling of wellbeing and relaxation for body and soul. Included in Woodland Spa Experience • Towels • Wood fired hot tub • Wood fired sauna • Cold bath • Rain shower • Safari shower Golden Hour Experience 7 – 9pm As above • Candle lit • Non Alcoholic Prosecco • Cheese board £150 - £175 You must have flip flops/slides to walk around spa area.
  • Spa Bath / Jacuzzi - Wee Home now has its own hot tub which is affectionately known as “Wee Tub”. It is a wood fired Swedish hot tub. It is heated with wood from our own woodland. A combination of storm damage and land management ensures we have a constant supply. Our replanting scheme ensures that we replenish wood stock that is taken from the land. There is also an outdoor cold water shower – to complete your outdoor bathing experience. If you have not booked the hot tub as part of your stay. It can be added at a cost of £100. It can seat up to 4 people maximum. We will supply the wood to use. Please contact us if you require any more information. Please do not use the hot tub with prior arrangement with us.
