We love our pets. And yours too. Right across Northern Ireland, you will always find a place where you and your pet are both welcome to stay. So, to help you plan your trip better, here is a handy list of pet friendly accommodation.

Canine-friendly on the Causeway Coast

Along the beautiful Causeway Coast, you’ll find plenty to keep tails wagging or cats purring. Near Portrush and Portstewart, The Lodge Hotel, Coleraine (3*) is a warm dog-friendly haven. Speaking of Portrush - you’ll also find dedicated pet-friendly rooms at the Inn on the Coast (3*).

Bushmills, home to the famous distillery, is where your four-legged friend can call home at the award-winning Ballyness Caravan Park, Bushmills (5*). Your furry bestie will get a welcome basket of treats at The Marine Hotel, Ballycastle (3*) while in Ballintoy, near Carrick-a-Rede bridge, the cosiness of the Fullerton Arms, (4*) has been roping in happy pet owners for years.

A little further inland, all rooms and courtyard cottages are pet-friendly at the Brown Trout Golf and Country Inn, Aghadowey (3*).

Barking up the right tree in Belfast

With the Divis Ridge Trail and other delightful walks on your doorstep, Belfast is a very pet-friendly city. At the AC Hotel (4*) on the waterfront, your best friend will get its own little bed, bowl and treats – and can dine in the bar area. You will also lap up the Dog Dens at the Bullitt Hotel, so book early to avoid that disappointing look in your dog’s eyes. Check out some cool city centre living at the Malmaison Hotel (4*) where designated rooms await. The Fitzwilliam (5*) is another place in Belfast where your four legged doggie friend can stay the night and enjoy the five star experience along with the rest of the family.

The Rabbit Hotel and Retreat, (4*) just 20 minutes outside Belfast in Templepatrick is also opening its doors to your dog, allowing them to be part of your family break away.

Ballydougan Pottery Courtyard Cottages (4*) has five country cottages near Lough Neagh and Craigavon Lakes to welcome your pet with open arms.

Doggie and moggie heaven in Co Down

Late & Early Cottage (4*) is a delightful self-catering haven for you and your pet to roam and explore in Saintfield. As a place to rest tired heads, you will love any of the five Kribben Cottages, nestled in Annalong with the Mourne Mountains as your backdrop. If you’re out Downpatrick way, Ballymote House (4*) really is a pooch’s paradise. The Cuan (4*) in Strangford will also give your pet the best of welcomes . If you prefer the freedom of a holiday cottage, you’d be barking mad to miss out on The Bakers Cottages (5*) in Seaforde, or Hanna's Close (3*) in Kilkeel.

Fidos and felines always welcome in Fermanagh

With a choice of pet-friendly hotel rooms or self-catering cottages, your pooch will be pampered either which way at the Killyhevlin Lakeside Hotel & Lodges (4*). The Lusty Beg Island Resort and Spa (4*) is another piece of heaven on your own private island. You won’t be short of pet friendliness either at the Belmore Court Hotel (4*) in Enniskillen.
