About
Discover the unique history of Titanic Hotel Belfast, and explore the iconic Drawing Offices and heritage spaces of Harland & Wolff’s former headquarters building. For EHOD weekend the Heart of the Yard exhibition will be on display, as well as the chance to see the art and artefacts throughout the heritage rooms on a self-guided tour.
Once the control centre of the world’s largest shipyard, the H&W Headquarters building had been derelict since 1989, before it was restored in 2015 with the support of the National Lottery Heritage Fund, and turned into the award-winning Titanic Hotel Belfast. Many of its stunning heritage features have been retained, such as floor tiles and ornate moulding which were also used on Harland & Wolff’s iconic passenger ships and Olympic class liners. Titanic Hotel Belfast contains a range of art, original artefacts and repurposed materials from throughout the building’s history.
Explore the heritage rooms to find the floorplans tracking the building’s evolution as the shipyard expanded, original partnership agreements, and a draft of RMS Titanic’s building certificate. Don’t miss the clerk’s desk and call into the Telephone Exchange and Director’s Entrance, once reserved for VIPs and senior management.
