Paddle and Pizza on Strangford Lough

52A Ballyorran Road, Killinchy, County Down, BT23 6UD
Paddleboarders of all ages standing with boards and paddles back from a session on the waters of Ballymoran Bay

About

A paddleboarding experience from the shores of Strangford Lough, just 2 minute from our home at Tracey's Farmhouse Kitchen, Killinchy. Instructor Joe will teach you the basics of paddleboard, and afterwards you'll feast on delicious homemade pizza straight from the wood fired oven.

You don't have to be able to paddleboard to enjoy this very different experience! Join us at Tracey's Farmhouse and Joe your very lovely patient Instructor will give you your wetsuit and safety vest.

Take a 2 minute walk to the shoreline and Joe will gently take you on your board - {standing or sitting} around the beautiful little Islands in Strangford Lough. It's a Marine Nature Reserve and an area of outstanding natural beauty. You'll spot many unusual birds and a maybe even a Seal or two!

You'll have worked up an appetite after paddleboarding, so you'll be ready to devour some tasty homemade Pizza. You'll take a 2-minute stroll back to Tracey's Farmhouse Kitchen where the aroma of freshly cooked pizzas will welcome you!

Tracey will have a big mug of tea or Coffee ready for you and if it's chilly there will be a roaring fire in her Garden room. You'll be toasty in no time!
You'll have a choice of outdoor seating in the garden or warm up inside in the cosy garden room.

Enjoy homemade pizza prepared by Tracey and Joe in their alfresco wood fired Italian Pizza oven. Pizzas will be served along with fresh salads using our own produce grown in the garden. You'll eat as much Pizza as you can - but leave room for dessert!

Coming from Belfast: Head in the direction of the Newtownards road. When you get to Stormont Buildings on the Newtownards Road take the signs for Comber and then for Killinchy. Drive for 5 miles on a straight road. You will arrive at Balloo House – a large pub / restaurant. Turn left at Balloo House onto Beechvale Road. Go straight ahead in the direction of Whiterock for about a mile until you see a brown tourist sign saying "Ballymorran Cottages" {picture at top of this page} on your right at the brow of the hill. Turn right as if you're going to Ballymorran Cottages. You follow the road all the way to the bottom, to the water's edge and all the way round the Bay until you come to a bend. Follow the bend and you will turn away from the water. You will see a long white washed wall on your left and the name "Horseshoe Cottage" on the wall. Keep driving and you will see a thatched barn – turn left and you have arrived!
