About

Stomp, splash and squelch this February half term!

No one does mud quite like us. It's the stuff our super-powered wetlands (and great family adventures) are made of.

Make it, mix it, mould it and build with it, sling it, paint it and jump in it. Head to WWT Castle Espie for muddy activities kids of all ages will love.

The activity line-up:

Mud kitchen - Daily

Use pots and pans to mix up a treat in our mud kitchen.

Mud slinging - Daily, 11am-1pm & 2pm-4pm

Embrace mess. Throw mud at the target in our mud slinging contest. Scoop it, aim it, sling it – and score points for hitting the target!

Brilliant beaks - Daily, 11am-1pm & 2pm-4pm

Test out how different shaped beaks help our wetland birds hunt for food in their muddy habitats.

Mud art- Tues 11am-1pm, Weds & Thurs 11am-1pm & 2pm-4pm

Get hands-on and sculpt a wetland animal using clay and foraged materials. Drop-in workshop in the Brent hide with resident artist Tracey Johnston.

All activities listed above are FREE for WWT members or included with standard admission.

PLUS, go even more mad for mud at one of our workshops! Book your spot at mini-beast yoga, mud painting, or clay seed bomb making (workshop tickets £2 each).
