PRONI Building, 2 Titanic Boulevard, Titanic Quarter, Belfast, County Antrim, BT3 9HQ
Historic Environment Record of Northern Ireland (HERoNI) EHOD 2025

About

This presentation will outline the findings of archaeological excavations carried out in North Division townland to the north of Carrickfergus town as part of recent residential development.  The excavations revealed evidence for early medieval rural occupation in the surrounding landscape in the form of an enclosed settlement site with associated livestock enclosures and enclosed field system which provides for an interesting glimpse into rural occupation of the landscape at this time. Followed by a tour of HERoNI and a document display.
