Get Arty with Archaeology: Illustrate the Lisnacrogher scabbards

Ulster Museum, Botanic Gardens, Stranmillis Road, Belfast, County Antrim, BT9 5AB
Get arty in an archaeological illustration workshop at the Ulster Museum

About

Learn about the history of archaeological illustration, get up close with artefacts, and discover the tools used by archaeologists to create detailed artefact illustrations.

In this workshop with archaeologist Bronagh Murray from the Historic Environment Record of Northern Ireland (HERoNI), you'll focus on the Lisnacrogher bronze scabbards, which are decorated with running wave curvilinear La Tène designs and date from circa 300 BC to 200 BC.
Create your own illustration of the Lisnacrogher scabbards using a template, and put your newly learned techniques to the test!

What to know:
-This is a free workshop, but booking is essential.
-This event takes place in the Learning Zone at Ulster Museum. Please ask reception to direct you on arrival.
-This event is part of the Council for British Archaeology's Festival of Archaeology.
