Castle Ward, Strangford, County Down, BT307BA
Castle Ward Sunken Garden

About

Join our gardeners for an immersive experience as they guide you through the beautiful Sunken Garden and the tranquil Pinetum at Castle Ward.

On this exclusive tour, you'll learn about the history and restoration of the Sunken Garden, which has been carefully brought back to its late Victorian glory, as well as the fascinating variety of plant species that bring colour and life to this serene space throughout the year. At the end of the tour, you will be given complimentary Castle Ward bulbs, so that you can take a piece of the Sunken Garden home with you.

From there, continue your journey into the Pinetum, a peaceful haven filled with a diverse collection of towering pines and conifers. Discover the stories behind these majestic trees, some of which have been part of Castle Ward's landscape for over a century. Whether you're a seasoned gardener or simply love nature, this tour offers a unique insight into the horticultural heritage of the estate and the efforts being made to preserve it for future generations.

Be sure to bring your questions, as our knowledgeable gardeners are happy to share their tips and expertise during this engaging and educational tour.
