Easter Weekend: Build a Bug Hotel

WWT Castle Espie Wetland Centre, 78 Ballydrain Road, Comber, County Down, BT23 6EA

About

Get stuck in to help create a brand-new bug hotel for Castle Espie this Easter weekend.

Building a bug hotel is a great way to help insects like ladybirds, bees and woodlice. It offers them shelter, protects them from predators, and gives them a safe space to raise their young. All of this helps to boost biodiversity and create nature-bursting habitats.

At this drop-in session, have a go at stacking pallets, gathering natural materials from the woodland or making the hotel extra comfy by adding sticks, leaves and more. All tools will be provided and the team will be on hand to guide you.

You'll even pick up some top tips for how you can make your own snug-as-a-bug hotel at home!

Best suited to ages 7+.
