Aardman presents Lloyd of the Flies Wetland Bug Hunt

WWT Castle Espie Wetland Centre, 78 Ballydrain Road, Comber, County Down, BT23 6EA

About

Dive into the wonderful world of wetland insects with Lloyd and his new friend Dart the dragonfly at WWT Castle Espie.

Lloyd and friends will join our own cast of wetland minibeasts. Follow the trail to help Lloyd and tour guide Dart the dragonfly find Lloyd's friends and family and make their way to the bug hotel.

Strike a yoga pose like Cornea the Butterfly, 'bee' the best dancer like Yard the Bee and form your own ant conga like Queen Libby the Ant.

Participating in the Lloyd of the Flies Wetland Bug Hunt activities is included in the price of a WWT admission ticket or is free to WWT members.

Families can also 'shrink down' to fly size and see the world through an insect's eyes, by downloading Aardman's augmented reality app: Lloyd of the Flies AR Bug Hunt.

Before you visit, download the app for free on Google Play or App store. Search for Bug Hunt. You will be prompted to input a location code. This will be available in the centre when you visit.

Make even more of your wetland bug hunt with an exclusive WWT Lloyd of the Flies Wetland Activity Pack (£4) available to buy at our WWT wetland centres. It includes an activity booklet, Lloyd headband, stickers, and pencils, all in a handy bag.

As the charity for wetlands and wildlife, at WWT we're on a mission to restore wetlands and unlock their power. Only then can we help our incredible insect population to thrive.

We can't wait to join forces with the Royal Entomological Society and the stars of Aardman's CG animated series Lloyd of the Flies! With our insect-friendly wetland habitats and snug-as-a-bug hotels, we know they'll feel right at home.
