Fintona golf club was founded in 1904 and is a fine parkland 9-hole course, very conveniently positioned at the edge of the village. It was featured in Ronan Rafferty's Great Golf Journeys on UTV which showcased six courses in Northern Ireland. Rafferty ranked Fintona to be the best nine-hole course in the Province, and few locals will argue with that.



It measures 6310 yards with par of 72 and a standard scratch of 70 and all 9 holes have twin tees, thus presenting the player with a different puzzle to solve the second time round. A trout stream known locally as "the quiggery" meanders through the course, intruding on 8 holes in all and to play here without finding the stream might be considered something of a miracle. The trees here are magnificent and complement a picture-postcard setting, which is enjoyed by all that play here. A brand new clubhouse was built in 1997 and catering for groups can be organised by appointment.



Many of the holes have different tees the second time round which makes your round more interesting. There are stay & play offers available for that great golfing getaway. Golfers coming to play at Fintona will be ensured a warm welcome, a pleasant round of golf and a friendly reception in the bar afterwards.
