Summer Evenings

About

Babushka Kitchen Cafe opened it's doors in July 2014, serving locals and visitors Breakfast and Brunch dishes with fresh local ingredients and a strong homemade 'Slow Food' ethos.Seasonality and relationships are a central theme with fresh takes on classic brunch dishes. The coffee is also seasonal, serving the best possible beans sourced directly to producer thanks to a close relationship with well renowned Swedish roaster; Koppi; who, themselves, champion close and sustained relationships with producers. Babushka serves delicious Fresh Sourdough From Ursa Minor Bakehouse, in Ballycastle as well as working alongside, Seaview Farms, Broughgammon Farm, Vance Organic, Cavanagh Eggs, Ispini Charcuterie and more award winning producers.

The drinks menu features Seasonal Homemade Lemonades in Summer to Mulled Apple Steamers in Winter or Orange and Cardamom Hot Chocolate. Coffee is prepared to precise standards with more scales and timers than your average Athletics club while similar care is shown in preparation of Matchas and their homemade chai syrup.

Bakes are always made in house and there are always plant based options available alongside Babushka's take on some favourites.

Babushka has recently began opening evenings as a Natural Wine Bar, serving Contemporary dishes and small seasonal plates as well as a list of Natural wines, predominantly imported directly from producers. Babushka has a small but exciting list of local craft beers as well as some wild fermented curiosities that pair amazingly with food. Open Thursday – Saturday 5.30 - 9pm, the restaurant allows diners to enjoy fresh and vibrant dishes with unique drink pairings overlooking a Blue Flag Beach to the sound to the waves and the gulls.

Babushka draws from a wide culinary palette that could leave guests feeling that 'sure, you could be anywhere' feeling; but with views, flavours and fun atmosphere, why would you want to be anywhere else?
