Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann Accommodation

Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann comes to Belfast from 2nd - 9th August 2026 and with over half a million visitors expected across the week, getting your accommodation sorted early is essential.

Whether you’re thinking of staying just for a night or two, or planning to explore more of what Northern Ireland has to offer, you’ll find the perfect base for your trip right here.

From hotels and B&Bs to self-catering apartments, cosy stays to luxury getaways, camping, glamping and everything in between we’ve gathered the best of it all in one handy place.

Where To Stay In Belfast For The Fleadh

Belfast is a compact, walkable city and most Fleadh venues will be within easy reach if you choose to stay in the city itself.

The Cathedral Quarter and the areas around Victoria Square and City Hall will have the highest concentration of accommodation options close to the action, while Titanic Quarter and the university area of South Belfast offer accommodation within 20 to 30 minutes’ walk of the city centre.

There is also a variety of accommodation available in the North, South, East and West of the city, which is approximately 15 minutes away by road or a quick 20-minute ride on the bus or Glider services.

Staying in Belfast also gives you the easiest access to everything the city has on offer beyond the Fleadh: from the Titanic Belfast visitor experience to St George’s Market, the Cathedral Quarter’s range of buzzy pubs and bars, and the city’s impressive restaurant scene.

Camping In Belfast For The Fleadh

Plans for official Fleadh campsites are currently being finalised, with proposals submitted for a tents-only campsite in Ormeau Park and a dedicated site for caravans, campervans and motorhomes in Titanic Quarter.

These are not available to book yet, but more information can be found on the official Fleadh Cheoil website where you can also register your interest for camping facilities.

Staying Outside Belfast: Explore More Of Northern Ireland

The Fleadh is based in Belfast, but that doesn’t mean Belfast has to be your only base. Major surrounding towns and cities like Lisburn, Bangor, Carrickfergus and Newry are around a half-hour train journey away, perfect for those who want to stay near Belfast city itself.

For those who want to build a proper trip, virtually everywhere in Northern Ireland is reachable in under two hours - so there’s no excuse not to explore the very best of what the region has to offer.

The iconic Causeway Coastal Route is around an hour north of Belfast depending on your route. Stay in Portrush, Cushendall or Ballycastle and enjoy one of the world’s most spectacular coastlines on your doorstep with the Fleadh still within easy reach. The North Coast also has its own strong trad music scene, particularly in Ballycastle, which makes it a fitting companion to a Fleadh visit.

County Down and the Ards Peninsula, to the south of Belfast, offers everything from quaint seaside towns to spectacular mountain views. Newcastle at the foot of the Mournes, the quiet market towns around Strangford Lough and the fishing villages of south Ards are all within an hour of Belfast and offer a more laid-back experience to compliment the buzz of the city.

The city of Derry~Londonderry is packed with history, a remarkable choice of restaurants, bistros and bars and must-see attractions including the famous Derry Girls mural. A direct train runs from Belfast to Derry~Londonderry and the two-hour journey offers breathtaking views of the Causeway Coast including Mussenden Temple, historic tunnels and the dramatic cliffs between Castlerock and Downhill.

If natural beauty and a slower pace of life are what you’re looking for, counties Armagh, Fermanagh and Tyrone offer landscapes of lakes, rivers, islands, rugged mountains and ancient forests that feel far from the energy of a festival city. The ideal locations to escape and unwind post-Fleadh, each county is nonetheless packed full of history, activities, landmarks and attractions.

Hotels For Fleadh Cheoil 2026

From the independently owned to major international brands, luxury hotels and more, Northern Ireland has options for all needs and budgets.

Whether you want to be in the thick of it in Belfast city centre, a short journey away or somewhere further still to explore all that Northern Ireland has to offer, you’ll find quality hotels and accommodation wherever the road takes you.

Early booking is strongly recommended. August in Belfast is busy at the best of times, and the Fleadh week is expected to bring exceptional demand.

Self-Catering Accommodation For The Fleadh

For families, groups or anyone who wants the flexibility to come and go on their own schedule, self-catering accommodation is hard to beat during Fleadh week. Belfast has a wide range of apartments and holiday lets in and around the city centre, giving you space, independence and the convenience of a central location without the constraints of check-in times and restaurant hours.

Outside of the city, there’s an enormous variety of self-catering stays available, from coastal cottages to tiny homes and unique locations – including the entire West Wing of Crom Castle!

B&Bs, Guest Houses & Hostels

Northern Ireland has a strong reputation for B&Bs, guest houses and hostels, with each offering something other stays can’t replicate: a proper welcome, local knowledge from somebody who actually lives there, and an optional breakfast to set you up for the adventure ahead.

You’ll find top-rated accommodation the length and breadth of the region, from Belfast city centre to the Causeway Coast, the shores of the Ards Peninsula and beyond. If you want to get under the skin of a place rather than just pass through it, this is often the best way to do so.

Camping, Glamping & Caravanning

From fully-equipped glamping pods, bubble domes to enjoy uninterrupted views of the surrounding scenery, to traditional campsites and caravan parks, there’s a variety of options across Northern Ireland for those who want fresh air and open space as part of their Fleadh trip.

For the Fleadh week itself, sites within an hour of Belfast offer a practical and often more affordable alternative to city-centre accommodation. For visitors extending their trip into the wider region, sites in the Causeway Coast, Antrim Hills, Mourne foothills and beyond offer outdoor landscapes that are genuinely rewarding to explore at a slower pace.

Tips for Booking Accommodation for Fleadh Cheoil 2026

If you’re thinking of planning a trip for the 2026 Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann, here are a few top tips and things worth knowing before you book.

Book early:
  • Approximately half a million visitors are expected to visit Belfast for this year’s Fleadh. The city itself has strong accommodation capacity, but the earlier you book the more choice you’ll have.

Consider the full week:
  • The 2026 Fleadh Cheoil runs from Sunday 2nd to Sunday 9th August. If you’re flexible on dates, mid-week accommodation is often easier to secure than the main weekend slots that bookend either end of the festival.

Think about transport:
  • Belfast is highly walkable during the Fleadh, with most festival venues centred right in the heart of the city. If you're staying outside the city centre or outside Belfast entirely, check transport options in advance. The Glider rapid transit line is useful for moving across the city, or - for those travelling from further afield - train and bus connections from across Northern Ireland and from Dublin are regular and reliable.
Check what's included:
  • B&Bs and guesthouses in Northern Ireland often include breakfast, but it’s always worth confirming before you book. Self-catering properties vary considerably in what they provide. Hotel packages around the Fleadh may include parking, which is worth factoring in if you're arriving by car.
Look beyond the obvious:
  • Central Belfast will be the first thing most visitors search for, but areas just outside the centre - including South Belfast, Titanic Quarter and surrounding towns like Lisburn and Bangor - have accommodation options that will be less busy, with good transport links into the centre.
