The Lookout is situated in Church Bay, Rathlin Island, a stonesthrow from the beach, overlooking the Sea of Moyle, stretching between Rathlin and Ballycastle on the Mainland. An apartment on two floors, sleeping up to 3 people, providing stylish, comfortable accommodation.
On the ground floor, enter via the modern fitted kitchen with induction hob, oven, dishwasher, microwave, sink and washing machine. There is a convenient breakfast bar with two bar stools. The shower room with toilet and sink is also on the ground floor. Additionally there is an outdoor shower which is handy when returning from the beach after a swim.
Continue upstairs to the open plan living room, dining room and bedroom with stunning views out across the bay, looking towards the Causeway Coast and the Mainland. All the windows have electric operated black out blinds.
The sleeping area consists of one double bed and one single bed, both with bedside tables.
The living area has a large comfortable L shaped sofa with coffee table and television. There is a DVD player with a selection of DVDs. There is also a selection of board games.
The dining area has a dining table and 3 chairs.
From the dining area, head outside to a balcony with table and chairs, which leads via a few steps to a sheltered patio area . Here you will find an outside table and chairs and a BBQ. Perfect to enjoy a drink or an al fresco meal.
Rathlin Island is a wild and beautiful place, only a short ferry trip from Ballycastle. It is steeped in history, myth and legend and is also a haven for wildlife. The bird sanctuary attracts visitors from all over the world, as an internationally important for breeding seabirds. It is also home to Northern Ireland's largest seabird colony, providing the ideal place for Puffins, Guillemots, Kittiwakes, Razorbills and Fulmars. Rathlin is also home to grey and common seals, which can often be seen in the water or basking on rocks around the shore.
There are a number of off-road walking trails across the island. It is also possible to hire bicyles on the island, or bring your own. The 'Puffin Buses' run regular trips to the Seabird Centre at the West Lighthouse from the harbour.
The Manor House and McQuaig's bar are both only a very short walk from the property, offering refreshments and meals. There is also a community shop close by, selling a small selection of groceries and other provisions.
