About

Culturally curious visitors will find our cottage in the historic village of  Royal Hillsborough a convenient location for the local attractions of the Royal Castle, Balmoral Park / Eikon Centre and Down Royal Race Course. Our cottage is a short stroll away from award winning restaurants. Other culinary facilities in the village include an excellent Deli, a home bakery and coffee shops.

This sympathetically converted two storey centuries old cottage has a first floor central lounge, with a working Inglenook wood burning stove, leading into the conservatory, which overlooks the Race. The bedrooms are located to both ends of the lounge. This arrangement may suit an extended family. The property includes three bedrooms, one king size with ensuite and two further bedrooms, one a king size, the other a double and a good-sized shower room. There is an additional bathroom on the ground floor. The front entrance opens into a hallway/dinning area with a separate fully equipped kitchen. The hallway extends onto a patio at the rear, where BBQ facilities and a close view of the Race are available.

The Race, previously an energy source for a local mill and now provides for the 'Power House' within the Castle grounds, runs throughout the length of the cottage to the rear.

Free car parking is provided at the cottage, which has central heating.

Belfast attractions like Ulster Museum, HMS Caroline, Crumlin Road Gaol and Titanic Belfast, as well as Game of Thrones® filming locations and both Northern Ireland airports are within a mere 20-30 minute drive. Fermanagh lakelands, the Causeway coast and its golf links (Royal Portrush is host to The 148th Open), as well as Dublin Airport are within a 90 minute drive.
