Waterfoot Cottage

About

Treat yourself to a relaxing stay in this charming 200-year old cottage surrounded by 20 acres of private nature reserve on the shores of Lough Neagh.

Wake up to cows grazing, passing pheasants and our pony Milly and Tom the donkey. For a hearty breakfast we supply a welcome pack including fresh farm eggs from our own flock of hens, potato bread, bacon, orange juice, freshly baked scones and homemade jam.

A private 5-minute walk past our pond leads to Lough Neagh where you can admire the outstanding view extending to the Mourne Mountains. From here enjoy lunch at the picnic table or pick your favourite trail.

Come back and relax in our roll top bath, put your feet up at our log burning stove and enjoy a book or movie. We are the perfect get away for families, couples or friends. For those who want to explore the North of Ireland or for those who want to chill out and unwind in a cosy cottage surrounded by nature.

Guests can enjoy badminton, swing ball and barbequing in the summer. Indoors books and board games are provided or logon to Netflix on our smart TV.

Located beside the Seamus Heaney Homeplace, you are only a one-hour drive from all major tourist attractions; the Giant’s Causeway, Titanic Belfast, Game of Thrones locations, The Gobbins and more. Locally, visit Davagh Dark Sky Observatory beside the Beaghmore Stone Circles or try something more adventurous at The Jungle NI.

We are three miles from Ballyronan Marina which has a children’s play area, boat hire and blue flag beach where you can enjoy the latest pastime time - wild swimming.

Golf, horse riding, cycling and trekking in the Sperrins are all easily accessible and a free pass is available for fishing along the Moyola river.

Our nearest town is also 3 miles away, Magherafelt, recently named by the Irish Times as one of the top 3 places to live in NI!

Framed prints by local artist Liam Horner are on display in the cottage which can be purchased as the perfect gift or memory of your holiday.
