About

Under the Drum is a music and multidisciplinary arts festival that takes place in Tildarg, Co. Antrim.

It is a festival whose main aims are to be a platform for local talent and local produce, to create an intimate and boutique atmosphere unlike any other festivals in the country, and to showcase some of the most exciting and diverse up and coming acts from across the island and beyond. Amongst our lineup we have Junior Brother, whose lyrical modern folk is making him one of the most exciting acts on the island, Negro Impacto, whose danceworthy neo-soul will surely be a hit and local heroes Junk Drawer, the voice of Ulster psychedelia. There is also a full complement of exciting local DJ acts including Holly Lester and Reger, both of whom are featured at this year's AVA festival in Belfast.

There will also be a wellness area with on-site sauna, swimming pond and yoga sessions.

There will be a warm-up night on Friday 8th August, with some intimate acoustic sets followed by DJ sets to get the party started. Then the main schedule of events takes place on the Saturday 9th August.

The venue is called Breckenhill, a successful weddings and pursuits venue that has made a name for itself for being a wild and natural haven 30 minutes from Belfast. The first festival took place in September 2024 and was a great success, inviting people to the site to enjoy music from the likes of Joshua Burnside and Arborist, explore the art market and take part in some workshops and craft activities, and to camp amongst the rural beauty of the Antrim hills.

In 2025 we plan to expand and to further diversify and enhance what the festival offers and what it stands for. We are working with the Seamus Heaney centre who provide poets and writers to display their talents. There are lots of great local brands represented, Broughgammon Farm have excellent local produce, Our Brewery and Salty Buoy provide local craft beer and the art market is full of local and Irish talent. We are partnering with the charity Beyond Skin who support and enable multicultural artists to establish themselves, free of discrimination and sectarianism.
