We often hear of the notable men who are buried in Clifton Street Cemetery, but what of the women who were laid to rest there?

In this brand new tour, discover stories of notable women such as Mary Ann McCracken, who championed for the poor and fought for the rights of many to the everyday working-class women. Learn about how women such as Martha McTier and Charlotte Sinclair founded and ran the Lying-In Hospital as well as well as working-class women who ended up in Belfast looking for work or poverty relief at the Poor House, and are recorded in the Belfast Charitable Society's Burial Records.

These women, no matter their stature in society, all had names, and are part of our history. It's part of our story, by sharing their story it's now part of your story, but most importantly its 'herstory'.

Planning your visit:

- Meet at Clifton House, and our guide will lead you to the cemetery
- Please arrive 10 minutes before the start of your tour
- Guided tours last approx. 90mins, which includes the journey time to and from the Cemetery from Clifton House.
- Free car parking onsite at Clifton House
- Booking in advance essential due to limited spaces
- Please advise in advance of any accessibility requirements as the ground of the Cemetery is uneven.
