Galgorm Cottage EHOD 2025

About

Situated in the village of Galgorm the cottages were believed to be originally built sometime in the late 1600s. With thatched roof it was originally two separate dwellings. With one cottage being used in 1724  as a police station.

Today it is still possible to see the police cell below the cottage opening out from below the original building to the rear.   Exposed beams in the downstairs and exposed wooden trusses upstairs with wooden pegs still visible. The front doors are of a wooden chevron construction. In more recent times the cottages became one dwelling and was recently re-thatched in February 2019.
