36 Antrim Road, Belfast, County Antrim, BT15 2AE
Clarke Stained Glass Windows at St. Malachy's College Chapel EHOD 2025

About

This is an opportunity to visit the Chapel of St. Malachy's College which was designed by Mortimer Thompson and Timothy Hevey. It was dedicated on the 30th July 1882 by Bishop Patrick Dorrian.

Visitors will be able to view the magnificent stained-glass windows crafted by Richard King for the Harry Clarke Studios in Dublin. These 22 windows were commissioned to mark the centenary of the College in 1933 and are considered some of the finest examples of Irish stained glass of the period. The windows were repaired during a restoration project in 2004. The late Bishop Patrick Walsh, a former President of the College, described the windows as 'a reminder to us today, and to future generations, of the religious faith and vision of previous generations.'
