About

McConnell’s Distillery & Visitor Experience is a state-of-the-art Irish whiskey distillery set in the historic Crumlin Road Gaol site in North Belfast.

Opening in 2024, it marks the revival of the iconic McConnell’s brand—one of Belfast’s original whiskey names, first established in 1776. The distillery features a full production facility, immersive tours, tasting experiences, a bar, café, and event spaces, offering visitors a unique blend of heritage, craftsmanship, and modern hospitality at the heart of the city’s regeneration story.

The McConnell’s Signature Tour offers an immersive journey through the rich history, revival, and craft of Belfast’s original whiskey. Set within our working distillery at the Crumlin Road Gaol site, the guided experience brings visitors up close to the sights, sounds, and scents of live whiskey production.

Guests explore McConnell’s storied past, discover our distilling process from grain to glass, and finish with a tutored tasting of our core range—leaving as true McConnell’s Brand Ambassadors.
