About

Just 45 minutes from Belfast & 2 hours from Dublin - Meet the real-life Direwolf Dogs & explore over 20 key Game of Thrones tour filming location hotspots on the ancient sprawling demesne of Old Castle Ward. Winterfell Castle & Demesne, was used extensively for the filming of George RR Martin's epic adaption of Game of Thrones® novels.

When you first arrive onto the ancient demesne you soon realise why the HBO® location scouts chose the time-warp 'Old Castle Ward'; the sprawling medieval walls and imposing castle tower gate, the beautiful surrounding landscapes and far-reaching views across the lough; it was the perfect place to create the Game of Thrones Castle 'Winterfell' - the home of the Stark family. One thing though...as you approach Winterfell Castle for your Game of Thrones tour...beware of White Walkers in the woods!

Game of Thrones® Filming Locations Cycle Tour -  now is your chance to tour these epic filming locations for yourself on one of our 'Westeros Cruiser' bicycles and recreate your own favourite scenes from Game of Thrones – firstly you will meet Winterfell Castles Master-at-Arms  who will take you on a short behind-the-scenes 'Tales from the Filming Days' Orientation Tour  & share fascinating stories about how the film sets where created onsite, before issuing you with a Game of Thrones tour  ‘Stark Sack’  to ensure you can defend yourself as you cycle through the wilds of Westeros!  (Approx. 4kms along gentle flat shoreline & forest trails - allow 2 hours including photo stops)

Game of Thrones® Boat Tour – Winterfell Tours - enjoy stunning views from the water of the various ancient Westeros Castles and other shoreline locations used by HBO in the filming of the show, including Dreadfort, Robb’s Camp, Winterfell Castle, The Twins and Brienne of Tarth paddles a canoe back to King's Landing with Jaime Lannister captive. The boat is fitted with a large replica ‘Stark Flag’ which flaps in the wind as we cross the mouth of Strangford Lough AKA ‘The Narrow Sea’. These waters are where Brienne of Tarth brought Jaime Lannister ashore in a canoe on her way to Kings Landing and fittingly also where St. Patrick first came ashore to Ireland in a boat back in the 5th Century (the Vikings gave the lough the Norse name ‘Strangfyorthe’, meaning place of strong tidal currents or strong fjord). We will also visit the ‘Bay of Seals’ and if we are lucky you may even get some Dolphins following your boat. (The tour lasts approx.1hr 30mins. Minimum age 3+ years)

Game of Thrones® Tour – Archery Experience at Winterfell Castle - A replica of the Winterfell Castle archery range movie set has been masterfully recreated in the Winterfell Castle courtyard where the filming originally took place. Dress up in character costumes from the show, tour the movie set, stand exactly where ‘Jon Snow’, ‘Robb and Bran Stark’ stood and enjoy the thrill of firing live arrows!

Meet the real life Direwolves from Game of Thrones®  - Ever wondered what the Direwolf dogs are like in real life? Well now is your chance to meet brothers Odin and Thor who played Summer & Grey Wind in the actual show...

Medieval Banquets at Winterfell Castle & Demesne -  A truly unique and authentic medieval banquet experience for groups. On arrival at Winterfell, guests will be greeted by the Maester at the castle's north gate then escorted through to the ‘Armory & Forge’ to don their chosen costume, before being shown to their banqueting table by the 'ladies of Winterfell' - with dimly lit church candles on the far-reaching tables; fur-lined bench seating; open fire pits; traditional music; and everyone dressed in costume - this is sure to be the most memorable of dining experiences. Break bread and salt; enjoy a delicious hog roast and Winterfell fare; wash it all down with pitchers of fine deadly wine and exclusive 'Craft Beer' from Winterfell Castle's brewery.
