About

Gracehill, on the outskirts of Ballymena is an award-winning Georgian village, founded by the Moravian Church in 1759.  It was Northern Ireland's first Conservation Area and uniquely, is the only complete Moravian settlement in Ireland.   Recently, it has been recognised as Northern Ireland’s first UNESCO Cultural World Heritage site.

Gracehill is often said by visitors to have a unique and calm atmosphere that has to be experienced to be appreciated.  Official village tours are provided by certified guides and give access and an insight to areas that would otherwise not be seen, delving deeper into Gracehill’s rich historical, cultural, social, educational, and religious heritage.

Guided tours can be booked for groups by prior arrangement Monday to Saturday at a cost of £7.50 per person. Reduction to £7 for groups size over 15.   Regular tours are available during the summer months and at other times by arrangement.

Tours last approximately one and a half hours and include a short DVD presentation in the Old School Room, a guided walk around the Square and a visit to the Church and Old Shop to find out more about the fascinating history of this Settlement and the Moravian culture.

Tours can be tailored to meet your specific requirements.

Learning & teaching. Tours specially adapted for children and schools are also available focusing for example on activity in the Old Shop, the history of the Postage Stamp, or perhaps a Heritage Treasure Hunt around the village.

A variety of refreshments for group bookings can be arranged through Gracehill Moravian Church and the Old School is home to the Award-winning Millside restaurant.  Admission to Museum Room is free.
