The Forest Plots line both sides of the trail until rejoins the Red trail. The Forest Plots were established from 1965 onwards. Many of the tree species here have not generally been grown in this country within closely and evenly spaced stands. Examples worth looking at are Araucaria araucana (Monkey Puzzle), and Thuja plicata (Western red cedar).
