About

Visitors will enjoy a unique and memorable experience at Bellahill Cookery, which can be found nestled in Ballycarry - an Ulster Scots heritage village.

Born and bred in the local area, visitors can discover more of Arlene and her husband Billy’s lifestyle, passionately shaped by local traditions, heritage and culture.

Groups (max 10 people) can choose traditional griddle bread demonstrations, themed tasting demonstrations e.g. Italian, Thai, Spanish etc., demonstration lunches, or a home cooked lunch. A visit to Billy’s large shed is recommended for an extra blast of heritage and culture.
Visit www.bellahillcc.co.uk for more information and menu choices.

Arlene is a passionate home cook and a qualified cookery tutor, with 20 years experience throughout the UK. Highlights include website filming with Jamie Oliver and with X Factor contestants. Arlene has recipe columns in a variety of local newspapers.

Soda Farls and Fadge
Take a nostalgic step back in time and connect with Ulsters’ past: you will enjoy savouring the tastes and smells of traditional soda bread, wheaten farls, pancakes and fadge (potato bread), as Arlene shows you how they are baked on a griddle. Enjoy the craic, the Ulster hospitality and reminisce about days gone by.

The demonstration lasts approximately 1.5 hours (depending on the craic) and includes lots of bread samples with butter and jam, tea or coffee, water or juice. Traditional lunch optional.
