Tracey is amazing – all her guests say so. When she welcomes people into her thatched cottage, they step right into the warm, generous spirit of Northern Ireland. They roll up their sleeves, put on an apron, and before long are mixing and kneading dough for soda and wheaten breads in the traditional way.

Before cooking commences, Tracey offers a fantastic spread of home baking with all the ingredients sourced within ten miles. The day is full of chat, banter and local stories, mostly about the farming community of this beautiful landscape on the western shores of Strangford Lough. In Tracey’s Kitchen, people make friends as well as bread.

No one leaves empty – handed. Guests takeaway the bread griddled, a pack of ingredients and recipes and if there are any left, some of Tracey’s cakes and scones. This is true Northern Ireland hospitality.
