The 153rd Open
A Giant Welcome Through Young Eyes
As Northern Ireland prepares to host The 153rd Open, we’re rolling out a giant welcome to visitors from around the world. To mark the occasion, Tourism NI invited local schoolchildren to create artwork that shows how they want the world to see their home - through their own unique lens.
The creativity was truly GIANT. From the Giant’s Causeway and Derry Girls, to Mussenden Temple, Armagh Planetarium, Titanic Belfast, the Mourne Mountains, and beyond, our young artists captured the spirit, beauty and personality of Northern Ireland with colour, imagination and pride.
Now, we’re proud to put their work on display. A panel of judges selected six finalists whose vibrant designs will be featured on billboards, bus stops, and digital displays across the region in the lead-up to The Open.
Join us in celebrating the creativity of:
Bodhi (6), Jessica (7), Elise (8), Alexander (11), Lydia (15), and our overall winner, Lucia (15).
Below, you can explore a wider selection of entries that reflect the energy, warmth and imagination of a generation ready to welcome the world. Their artwork not only celebrates the return of The Open - it showcases the giant spirit that lives in every corner of Northern Ireland.
