22 Logwood Road, Bruslee, Ballyclare, Co Antrim, BT39 9LR
Riverside Cottage at Logwood Mill

About

Built in 1791, our beautiful Riverside Cottage was errected during the reign of King George III. Sleeping 4 people in 2 Double Private Bedrooms. One on the ground floor and one on the 1st floor.

Our cottage sits right in (not beside) the river and until the 1940's was a fully working watermill. Going back to 1791 the Watermill procused dyes from the bark of the Logwood Tree, and over the years has an amazing history of being a Spade Mill, Grain Mill, and even saw soldiers during the war use one of the buildings as a dorm.

Riverside Cottage has many unique features, not only sitting harmoniously in the river, surrounded by Maple, Aple & Birch Trees, with views of neighbouring fields, but the entrance to the cottage is via a little bridge spanning the original waterwheel well. We have original old oak beams, thick stone walls, stone arch in the sitting room, high vaulted ceilings, and a beautiful tranquil lower riverside garden exclusively for use by guests of Rievrside Cottage.

If you love wildlife, we have it in abundance, Squirrels, Herons, Otters, Rabbits, Hedgehogs, Wood Pidgeons, Gineafowl, Coaltits,Kingfishers, Dippers, Wrens, Robins....and so many more.

You can hear the river from all the rooms of the house, or slide the sash windows open fto reallt apreciate the Zen like quality of having the mesmerising sound of the water right at your window.

Riverside Cottage ottage has been sympathetically converted from a watermill in to a beautifully appointed cottage. We have decortaed the cottage using hetitage colours, and period unique heritage wallpapers, cast iron beds, antique firniture sits side by side with traditional style hand made furnishings and uplholstery.
