Ringcladdy Barn

About

Ringcladdy Barn is located off a quiet lane among the drumlins of coastal County Down. Outside are grassy lawned areas, hard surfaces for parking, a walled garden for BBQs, a separate play barn and lockable storage for cycles and canoes etc.
So much to see and do! Near Kilclief and Ballyhornan Beaches, Strangford Village, Castle Ward NT property, Clear Sky Outdoor Pursuits Centre, St. Patrick's Trail, the Lecale Way, the Down Coastal Route to Newcastle, the ferry to Portaferry and the lovely Ards Penninsula.

The Barn itself has four dorms with custom built bunks, two sleeping eight and two sleeping two people. Each bunk is supplied with bedlinen including a cosy duvet and cover, fitted sheet, pillow and pillowcase, so no need to bring your sleeping bag. Do bring a towel, however. There are two shower rooms with a total of four showers (electric, so instant hot water) four basins and three toilets. When groups are mixed, one shower room can be for the girls and one for the guys. Downstairs is a well equipped kitchen with a cooker with five ring hob and two ovens, a large fridge freezer, a dish-washer, washing machine, kettles, toasters and enough cookware, crockery and cutlery for 24 people. Beyond the kitchen is a dining area with seating for at least 24 and a raised sitting area with comfy sofas, a large TV with Freeview and a DVD player and a monster wood-burning stove. The stove powers the central heating and keeping it fed and happy is part of the bunkhouse experience. Logs are provided and the stove is lit ahead of your arrival for a warm welcome. In the hallway is storage space for boots, coats and outdoor gear, while just outside is a covered veranda - great for your arrival if some of that Irish Mist is descending from the sky. Also good for soaking up the morning sunshine. There are some picnic benches if you'd prefer to eat outdoors as well.

If you'd prefer to eat out, we can recommend several great restaurants/pubs just a couple of miles away.
