Fishers' Cottage

About

"Fisher’s Cottage is nothing short of immaculate. The cottage is decorated with quality fabrics, resulting in a warm and comfortable environment. Donna has created a cosy space that encourages long communal meals, tea by the fire, and quality family time. The main room has a kitchen and family room with views of the lough and a wood burning fireplace. The kitchen is bright and cheery with a big farmhouse table for gathering while cooking and eating. There are three comfortable bedrooms, 2 upstairs and 1 downstairs, which makes the space perfect for housing a family. The bed linens are crisp and comfortable, and all the bedrooms are filled with colorful throws to encourage leisurely lie-ins. The bathroom is spacious and bright with a shower and large tub, warm tile floors, and artistic light-features. The cottage is a perfect seaside retreat, thoughtfully decorated with lots of places to curl up with a blanket to read while looking out at the neighboring lough. Location:The cottage is quiet and right on the lough, but only a 5-10 minute walk into the neighboring village for groceries, local restaurants, and traditional Irish pubs. Hospitality and local touches: Donna and family were all so welcoming and take great joy in sharing their beautiful home with visitors. Considerable thought has gone into incorporating products from local businesses and showcasing the surrounding community. Donna has filled the space with artwork and books featuring the Mourne Mountains and Northern Ireland countryside. Donna kindly picked up some delicious, local breakfast staples, and we kicked off our stay with a hearty, traditional breakfast. The cottage is also filled with thoughtful touches such as McNutt of Donegal woolen blankets, local coffee, Irish soda and wheaten bread. The use of local products led us to further appreciate the beauty and culture of the area." - Jessie, New Jersey, Dec 2019
